AI agents for Xero

AI agents that read bills and invoices and post them into Xero, prep reconciliations, and chase approvals, with a human approving anything that moves money.

Xero is the ledger for a lot of SMBs and the accountants who serve them, and the daily work around it is the same repetitive loop: capture the document, code it, match it, reconcile it, chase the approval. An agent takes over the volume and hands the judgment to a person.

We fit into your Xero organisation through its API. Bills and invoices are read as they arrive, entries are prepared against your chart of accounts, and anything that touches money waits for a one-click approval.

How we connect

Into Xero, the right way

We connect through the Xero API using OAuth 2.0, with tokens scoped to the specific data the workflow needs. The Accounting API covers sales invoices, bills, credit notes, payments, bank transactions, contacts, items, and quotes, which is enough to run the agent inside your books. Xero moved to granular per-resource scopes in 2026, and we request only the ones a given workflow uses.

Xero enforces real limits (roughly 5,000 API calls per organisation per day and 60 per minute), so we build cached, event-driven agents rather than anything that polls. Multi-organisation deployments go through Xero's app certification. Everything runs under access you grant and can revoke, and the bank-feed and match steps that Xero keeps proprietary stay assisted, with a person confirming.

Doesn't Xero already do this?

Where the native features stop

Xero is rolling out JAX (Just Ask Xero), a chat assistant that helps with reconciliation, data entry, and getting paid inside Xero. It is genuinely useful for a person working in Xero. What it does not do is run an unattended workflow that starts with an emailed supplier PDF, reaches a purchase order in another system, and posts a reviewed entry across the seam. That cross-system, human-approved pipeline is what we build.

Questions about Xero

Can the agent reconcile our bank transactions in Xero?

It prepares the match and highlights breaks for review; Xero keeps the final feed and match logic proprietary, so a person confirms. The agent removes the sorting and the guesswork, not the sign-off.

How is this different from JAX?

JAX assists a person working inside Xero. We build agents that run across your inbox, your documents, and Xero together, with approval queues and logging, and deliver the system into your accounts.

Do you support multiple Xero organisations?

Yes. Beyond a small number of connected organisations Xero requires app certification, which we handle as part of setup.

What access does the agent get?

Granular OAuth scopes for the exact data the workflow touches, held in your account and revocable. We ask for the narrowest set that does the job.
